16700 vs 16710 GMT Rolex

Hi everyone,
Been lusting for a Pepsi GMT,
Just wondering what everybody's thoughts are on these two particulars.
I know they were released during the same time, and sold alongside.
My main question is whether the price difference, on the used market is worth it having the free hour hand.
I do travel atleast once a year, and don't think I would ever need to track more than 1 time zone.

Personally, I see more practicality with the timer on the minutes on the dial.. But..the GMT is a must have.

Anyways, your feed back is most appreciated!

I'll go for the 16700

Quickset date on the 16700 is preferred by many, esp if not traveling much.

Then the 16700 might be better. A bit cheaper but also harder to find. And you won't find one with SELs, and very hard to find with luminova.

The final, A serial numbers are Luminova and have only "Swiss" written on the dial (as opposed to "Swiss Made.")

Also, Adam, SEL bracelets on 16700 are certainly rare... but I've seen one that the seller said was special-ordered as such and this bracelet chart shows it as "Option 2."

I agree, go for the 16700. Quickset date, and less common than 16710.

Plus the 16710 only really tracks two time zones anyway; the "third time zone" is utter nonsense imho. Reading the 24h hand without 24h markings is the "third" zone, but it's easier for me to calculate time difference in my head than do that. I prefer the original GMT Masters precisely because the 24h is fixed...the bezel rotates so I see absolutely no use for a jumping 24h hand.

Interesting. I thought the 16700 was OOP by the time SELs came in. What year is that chart, any idea?

Don't know the year of the chart. Makes sense there was some 16700/SEL crossover--it was a time of all sorts of transitions.

My suggestion is a 16710 w/ SELs and lug holes. Either way you'll have a timeless classic.
