What does "bump" mean?

I've seen this in numerous posts on the sellers page and haven't a clue. Can someone please enlighten me?

It refreshes the listing...as in "bump" to the top. Any new post would do it but bump is short and sweet.

they write "bump" to bump the listing to the top of the list. they can write anything to put the ad to the top but "bump" sounds more like a bump... I guess

It means the poster fell down and bumped his head on the way to re-posting his advertisement. Okay, I made that up.

When one is selling a watch (as I happen to be currently doing - link if interested) it is used to refresh the ad
and move it back to the top of the sales listing so that it can be more easily found by a potential buyer of the item.

Sweet! I'm going to wind up getting myself into trouble, I just know it.

Now that it's explained, also known and written as BTT... bump to top, also sometimes a day inserted as in Monday bump...

As jocke duly noted, depends on where it is. On your car not good, on your face worse, on your nether region, real bad. Check out a Dr or a mechanic.
