I'll take better pics later on reason why I'm asking if it's fake is because my father took it to a random jewelry store for service and went on vacation and it stayed there for over a month and we think they swapped it for a fake. The number under the band says 93150?

wrong date font and tritium markers look to be the wrong colour for the age. How about some in-focus pics including all the reference markers and first part of SN?

Take off the band and check the sn#and see if it is the original watch

That watch looks more right than wrong to me, but the lighting and such distort features quite a bit.

None of the unmistakeable clues seem to be there, yet to me, it just looks off and that's because of miniscule things that lighting and focus can affect.

Either take it to an AD to have it authenticated or walk away if you're thinking of buying it.

Subs aren't rare.

Better pictures all around and good clear pictures of the model and serial numbers between the lugs might be helpful.

I would like to see the inside lid of the box more clearly. Also, check the serial number on the side of the case by removing the bracelet. That will tell you if the watch was replaced. Nothing about the watch screams fake to me.

second batch of photos look better. The serial number check will answer the question. Perhaps not such a great idea to leave the watch at a random jeweller.

any updates for us? What was the outcome of the serial number check? Detailed photos of the inside of the box? Looks suspicious how you start a thread like this and then shy away from questions that will prove the authenticiity of the watch.

That is one scary fake if it is fake.

Please stop taking pictures with your camera phone the hints used to identify if its a fake are being "blurred."

Either get pics with a good camera and gets some shots with our the band on or take it to Beverly Hills RSC and ask them for a service estimate. If they actually had it back to you and give you a price...its real....if not they will shred it;)

IMHO Thats not fake. Not 100% sure about the box the pics are not good but all seems ok.

looks fine to me, albeit the date font is off putting..

I would say its a mix and match of fake and gen parts.

Best bet is to stay away and like others have said, subs aren't rare... find another.

Anyone saying he should look elsewhere and walk away from this one should really read the original post before posting. He's not buying it. The watch belongs to his father, who left it at a watch smith for a month and they are worried that his fathers genuine sub was swapped for a fake.

That being said, it looks OK, that reference of sub isn't a common replica. To be sure either remove the bracelet and check the serial against his paperwork or take it to an ad for a service estimate.

Nice of your dad to take pics of it new with your username that you just started this month and only have 5 posts with. Fishy.....So within 19 days your dad bought a sub with box, took pics of it with your SN, sent it into service, and received a "fake" back?

Always ask the watchmaker to put the movement serial number and case serial number on your receipt and confirm them upon pick up before leaving with your watch.

Of course, this doesn't protect against every possibly injustice, but it will at least lead the watchmaker to believe that you know what you're doing. Most unscrupulous jewelers/watchmakers take advantage of people's ignorance...

really? you're going to be one of those guys? there are already too many people here who desperately want to believe their opinion on a "fake" is coveted by those who make them. hint: it's not.

the op is not saying his dad bought the watch and took pictures of the box and warranty with his sn on them. he is saying "here is what came with the watch when it was purchased new". he's including his name on the pictures so it shows that the op is the one taking the pictures, which was addressed a few posts above.

Sorry guys I haven't been on here we took the watch to two different jewelry shops and they both checked out as real even a pawn shop. My father has had the watch for awhile now I believe 8 years or so and the reason I took pictures next to my username is because I'm on various car forums and they require pictures with username to show its legit so it's just a habit. Thank you all for your time and responses.
