Keep Taking The Pills.

My GP is trying to keep me alive, but makes my life a bloody misery with prescription pills!

Having spent most of my years, avoiding medication, I hate 'em all, but now it seems I need them for my blood pressure, my kidneys and prostate,my heart, my bones and just about every sodding organ in my body.

To add insult to injury, swinish pharmaceutical manufacturers seem to delight in packing their products in units that call for safe cracking skills.
Jemmy proof, blister packs and child proof containers with combination locks. That have me with broken finger nails and making my urine boil, trying to open the bloody things.

Then there's the dosage and timetable, for which I really need a personal secretary to remember. There's even one pill that I am supposed to take sitting down FFS! (It contains nitro glycerin, so I imagine if I fall down it might blow my genitalia off).

I usually swill them down with a decent single malt, but lately I've just swallowed the malt and dumped the pills, only joking.

My GP told me to keep take the pills or give up breathing. So I'm trying to practise breathing better to take less pills!
I always used to think the planets b@st@rds were the Oil companies But now that I am introduced to the subject, the Pharmaceuticals rule hands down, even worse than some lawyers they are.
But without my fine hospital consultant,I would seriously doubt if I
would be writing this,so I guess I will keep taking the pills

Working fine...never felt better!

As a 5K plus poster you have noting to worry about The personal secretary might be a good thing, untill the pretty little creature in tight mini skirt bends over to pick something up. Then Padi has to reach for blood pressure medication again, which may be too much

Well Peter, I just laid out my pills for the week, and every day I take 18 prescription tablets (plus some vitamins and the odd pain medication - not every day though) so I know what it's like to have to save room after dinner to be able to fit the pills in.......

The good thing is no more injections of the poison I was taking, so I have given up the weekly ritual of jabbing myself with needles.

Although it sometimes sucks to have to take all this crap, I know that I would not be able to function without it all, so I am thankful for the drug techonology that's out there. Unfortunately I found out that I am unable to go on the latest and greatest drugs available, so even though I was cleared by my insurance company for the $25,000 per year bills, I am stuck with what I am taking for now.

BTW, your assertion that some pharmaceutical companies are worse than lawyers is just crazy talk........just ask Ed, he will confirm there is nothing worse than a lawyer......

If you think I'm going to defend all lawyers, you're wrong.

I've been laughing at my part of the profession for the past 35 years. Why? Because the type of law I practice is a luxury. The average person doesn't need my kind of law. How many of you need to get a patent or protect an invention? Probably very few. But on the other hand there are plenty of people (individuals and corporations) who are willing to pay me a lot of money to do what I love - study and write about new technologies and figure out how to best protect a new idea. So who am I to complain.

Is this a great country or what?
