Well, at least I've merged the THREE threads with the same name now. The next project is to make some sense out of it! Interestingly, I don't think Velitsko ever started it. The whole thing must have gone south during the database glitch a few minutes ago.

advice on how to spot a real sd
I don't know what happened to the first thread but here goes! I have someone coming in over at my house to make a trade. He is trading his seadweller for my chopper! My question is since he didn't have anything ( paper or authentication certificate ) to show, how could I possibly spot if the watch is a real one or a fake besides the movement? Anything to look out for on the dial, case, bracelet or handmovements maybe?
He is willing to take the watch to any jeweller but at my expense! He said it was pawned to him ( $4000.00 ) but wasn't able to retrieve the watch back due to the guy went to prison anyway for tax evasion! Thanks in advance Erwin

IMHO, you have to PULL the movement. Fakes are legion. PULL the movement at an AD or at a watch shop where you absolutely are certain they are expert in identifying a rolex movement. good luck.

In all honesty, unless your an expert or vast experience in obtaining Rolex Watches, you've got a job on. Only real way is to have an AD authenticate it.
