Will this make the "Old" SD more valuable and desirable.
I already call it "my precious"

It will be $8495 US. Book it. Rolex must not keep up with the US economy these days.

Same question posed by Canadians...

It appears some people on TRF are having a hard time financially. Rolex is a luxury item, just like high-end sports cars. If Ferrari made a 1,000,000.00 car, it will be sold. It just sucks that we have complainers here on this site. For those of you who can't afford it, moonlight or get another career. Don't forget why we wear Rolex's, so when people see whats on our wrists they know you have arrived.

I would be keen on buying the new SD as opposed to a SS GMT IIc, but if the AUS price comes in near to $12,500 then I'll get the ceramic for $8790 MSRP.

I own my house have 2 cars and 6 kids my wife and I both have worked are asses off for 30 years. I understand your point and you are right. But it is a shame Rolex has become this. There was a time when Rolex was a good watch and affordable. Over the years I haved owned 8 if you count the 2 Tudors. I bought my first GMT II in 85 for $650. That was still a lot of money but not unreasonable. In 91 I had a chance to buy a Daytona for $400. It was real but needed a overhaul. And it would have been worth it. But there still are plenty of affordable used Rolexs out there. I personally think the new ones have become unreasonable. I would wear one for what they are not for what they cost. And there was a time when that could be done; Jim

Geeez......

It's only money.... I mean, you can't really take either one with you when you depart this world....

Which would you rather leave behind.....a few bucks in the bank, or a battered and well used Deepsea ???

...............
