2 Rolex SS Daytonas at my gray dealer
So, as some of you know, I really like the gray dealer concept, Being able to get new model Rolex's, or a year old for quite a discount. I remember my first post's here, getting a D series TT Sub Blue Face for what many called me up as BS, except JJ, for the price I paid. Anyway, my dealer, who is highly respected is offering up 2, yes I said 2 Rolex SS Daytona's at 9700 each....but here's the catch, I gotta buy both, to get what I really want, a M series 18kt YachtMaster.
As most of you know, I already have bought the 'ClownMaster' in WG, and that is being traded in for the 3 watch deal, if it goes down, my question to the public is.... if I buy the 2 SS Daytonas, do you think I can sell them QUICK, for 10,500 apiece? All opinions would be appreciated. Thanks- -Bob PS The YachtMaster is M series new in box, with papers, and all plastic Last edited by rjw0501; 9 April 2008 at 07:14 AM.. Reason: forgot info |

I forgot to mention, buy taking the 2 Daytona's at 9700 each, the price of the YachtMaster is 10k...and no, he will not JUST sell the YachtMaster to me for 10k, it's a 3 watch deal.

on second thought, why is he forcing you to take two very desirable watches?
something doesnt make sense here. the other grey market dealers are selling the new SS daytonas for over 12k, and offering to BUY them for about 11k. |

The gray dealer I am buying from is an EXTREMELY well known in the mid atlantic regions, he is also one of the top diamond dealers in most of your mall outlets. I don't know if he is doing this deal because he like's me, or just want's to unload 3 watches quick for 30k. Anyway, thats why I brought it to the forums.... -Bob |

This is a very interesting thread. A gray dealer wants you to buy two SS Daytonas for only 500 over MSRP so he will sell you a Yachtmaster at a discount? Is this what you are saying?

If he bought them at invoice, then helped the AD out by buying 100k worth of undesirable watches, is it really a bad deal to the gray seller? I did'nt get that far into it with him, because frankly, it's none of my business, were talking about the deal thats on the table. -Bob |

Well everything went as planned, except I did not get rid of the YachtMaster2, I really like this watch, He wound up selling me the 2 SS Daytona's for 9400.00 each. I tried to do the deal without them, but they were the deal maker to get the 18k YM for 10K, I told him that the Daytona's could bring more money on Ebay, and he pretty much shrugged, and said he was not interested in the EBay bullshit, so now I have 2 Daytona's and possible 1 YachtMaster2 for sale. I will post over in the for sale section later, but if you im me I will sell the SS white face Daytona for 9900.00 it is a m series new in box, all papers....still trying to figure out what to do with The YM2 but 23k would probably let me part from it.
anyway thanks for your opinions -Bob Last edited by rjw0501; 9 April 2008 at 10:03 AM.. Reason: forgot the 2 on the ym |

MSRP for that watch is $25k. Something smells fishy.

That's just silly IMO. Why can't he sell them? It won't be as easy to sell them as you may think. Good luck.
