RG Daytona Ceramic...interchangeable Bracelet/Strap??

I was playing around with the RG Daytona with Black Ceramic Bracelet on a Strap and I noticed something which intrigued me. Most other Strap Rolex's (Datejust, other Daytonas, SkyDweller, etc...) have a solid piece of metal that closes the gap between the bracelet and the case. In the RG Ceramic Daytona though it seems that this part may be removable? Does anyone know if this is actually removable or not? I tried to take it off but I was unable to make it happen even though I could feel like I was getting close since the metal piece was wiggling.

If someone was able to get this out then i don't see why you wouldn't be able to put a RG Oyster Bracelet on this model which i'm sure would look amazing!

Does anyone know about this or has anyone already attempted it?

This metal part seems to have a springbar just like the one that is used to attach the strap to the case of the watch.

I've personally not handled one but it appears to be a standard end link. If that's the case it would be a simple task to remove. Beautiful watch by the way! Love the RG! 👍

I tried using the same tool you use to remove the end links on a bracelet model but it wouldn't budge. I kept feeling like I was close but it wouldn't work

From what I've learned, you cannot fit the oyster bracelet on the strap models.

That part locates into the case and the bezel fits over it.

Pic below is a WG model but have been told all the Daytona's designed for strap mount are the same (as in part of end link locates under the bezel)

So if those end links are removable does that mean that the bracelet could be placed on it?

As you can imagine getting info out of Rolex and some of the authorised watchermakers is near impossible.

What info I got was the bracelets won't fit due to the location of the lug holes, which are different on the models meant for straps.

And there is the older style I have posted the pic of with the hollow end links and the newer version which fit in with their own spring bar and are not completely hollow just machined out to accomodate the strap.

Maybe someone more knowledgable could clarify this for us?

Wow. Interesting information here! The lug holes do look like they are in a different spot than the bracelet RG version though

Rolexes are made for people who can afford them. If you can't afford a full gold model, buy a strap model. Rolex is not keen on DIY upgrades; it damages the exclusivity of the brand. Apologize if that offends, but it is their philosophy. So many people want to buy cheaper models and make them look expensive through upgrades. Rolex no likee.

Your logic definitely works with gold reference dials and bezels on steel models, but not so much with the topic of this thread.

The just over $20,000 price tag of the gold Daytona on strap is absolutely expensive overall, just considerably cheaper than the gold references on bracelet. Adding a $17,500 bracelet to a model on strap actually does makes the watch much more expensive rather than just looking it through upgrades. The gold bracelet is almost as costly as the entire watch on a strap.

Okay, this makes total sense. Thanks for sharing that picture. If I was to take the bezel off (which I won't attempt to do...the ceramic scares me a bit! Hahaha) I'd probably be able to take off that end link and be able to put on a bracelet. I'm positive that if I was to somehow be able to do this I'd be able to attach a solid gold oyster bracelet to it.

It's not a matter of not being able to afford the more expensive model...Daytona on a strap on the US is $28,800 compared to $37,450 for the bracelet model...it's a matter of being able to make something that you want. A lot of people don't love the ceramic bezel look but are just not big fans of the strap and would prefer a bracelet. I love the watch as is but would probably be happier in the long run if I was able to switch around every so often.

No offense taken but I don't really see money as an issue at all to most asking this question. What people want is the combination of the chocolate dial & black ceramic bezel with a bracelet. Plenty would simply prefer to have it on a bracelet (or have the option) than being stuck with simply a strap only. I also get the impression that many would buy it on a strap and would pay for a bracelet later on if it were possible to put one on it (I know I would buy the watch and likely order the bracelet at the same time from the AD I buy from) so that clearly means money isn't the biggest issue. I mean it's not like people are looking to put some rose gold plated bracelet on it.

Now if Rolex simply offered the 116515 in both straps and bracelet then this topic would probably not come up as often.

seems as though there was a pic posted on here from someone shopping at an AD and took a pic of a RG ceramic Daytona on bracelet..anyone remember that? or..
