Wearing a Rolex 5513 daily?
I was curious if anyone still wears a Rolex 5513 on a daily basis? Pics please.

Many people do. I use to. The 5513 is a great daily watch.

I wear it in spasms like 2 weeks on 3 months off:
There is no reason why one can't wear this watch every day, day in day out.

My Buddy in Hawaii has a really old 5513. He wears it everyday! A gift passed down from his Dad.

My watch is a 9million serial so it was produced in the late 1980's.
The watch is in it's original condition, so I believe, save for regulation servicing. I like the way the clouds reflect in the crystal in the second photo, kind of makes you appreciate all that heavenly glory Rolex put into this watch

I believe the white gold surround hour markers appeared in or around 1986, but there were still matt dials in stock and they were used by Rolex and dealers at times thereafter.
My 5513 came from Japan, and I am unable to say precisely what originally came out of the factory (as to the dial). However, Rolex has given the to the watch and it does conform to the 5513 in all respects. It maybe that the matt dial was retro fitted, I just don't know, but it is a 5513 .

The 5513's are picking up in price. They can vary depending on whether they have the gloss dial (with white gold surrounds) or the matt dial. I would expect to pay between $4,500 and $7500 depending upon condition, box and papers.
Some really nice looking photos guys thanks

I usually wear either a 16750 or a 1680 if vintage, a GMT IIc if modern.

I have two 5513 at the moment, I prefer to wear the beaten up Glossy Gilt 5513 as a daily beater. I don't feel I need any other watch at this time.
The other (matt dial meters first) gets no wrist time at all lately, and I'll probably flip it at some point this year, but I certainly wouldn't let it go for anywhere near $4500, even without box and papers. I think the prices quoted above are on the low side right now. |
