I sent the seller an Ebay message telling him to doublecheck the item... I would say if it is a fake the seller probably isn't aware

It's not a fake case. It just is not the correct case.
So, it would be alright to sell the movement by itself, but not in a case to protect it? Pocket watches have a long history of being recased. They are sold all the time in incorrect cases. |

There a lot of recased Patek's and Vacheron's on ebay all the time.
They are not yanked. Not a fake Patek case, but not a correct case. I think you are incorrect. |

Selling the movement alone would not be a problem. But recasing a Rolex makes it inauthentic. Especially in the eyes of Rolex.

Ok, let's say the dial is real. But in that case and with those hands, how do we know if the movement is real when there's no picture of it? I think we should stop defending the undefendable. (yep, that's now a word now) haha
