I would happily let anybody in my family wear mine, but they all live in different states so it would never happen.

My son can wear any of my watches anytime he wants and I've told him so. He loves watches also and knows how to take good care of them. He is not in a position financially to purchase expensive pieces now so why not let him enjoy mine, after all they'll all be his someday.

My response "HA HA HA ... Over my deadbody honey!!

My daughters asked to borrow my Rolex.
My response "HA HA HA ... Over my deadbody kiddo!!

My mom asked to borrow my Rolex.
My response "HA HA HA ... see ya lata mama!!

In the above cases, I never gave them my Rolex, simply because I believe in the most fundamental principle -- You wanna take care of soemthing, take care of it yourself. Otherwise it is you who is reponsible for the damage to the item and have no one to blame but yourself.

So you can see, I am not too protective about my rollies... How about you guys?

Out of those who say "it is just a watch", you will still get a heart attack when you get that phone call "honey/dad/son/bro/buddy, I dropped it on the sidewalk and it stopped ticking..what do I do now?.."

Life is short, I have no problem letting my family members mix and match my watches, it really is a great source of fun and enjoyment for our family and well out weighs any perceived negatives

I have also let several of my friends wear my watches for days at a time

It really is just another way to enjoy my watches, family and friends YMMV

When my wife and kids and I have them all on, it's a priceless family moment

You need a kidney? Sure!
You want to borrow my watch? In your dreams.

Nobody would ever ask. They know how particular I am about stuff. It would be more stress than they could handle.

If my wife wanted to borrow my watch, sure.. But she has no interest in it.. It's not her style and isn't sized for her wrist. I would not lend it to anyone else. Nobody has ever asked to borrow it and I doubt anybody ever will.

Wife, son daughter would all be fine with me. My dad was curious about my sub and I had him wear it for a couple of days. Just a watch... Nothing more.

Just tonight I offered one to an extremely good friend who came over for dinner. He said no, he has his own Rolex. To me it depends upon the person asking. If they will take care of my watch, and I trust them, it's insured. I would be more ready to lone out my Sub than one of my Explorers because I can't get my Explorers any more but can replace my Sub.

I really have no one close that is even remotely interested, if someone asked I be so flattered I would say sure. If it were one of my kids or my son in law I'd let them keep it. I'm so sure they would never ask, they have no interest in the jag either.

I don't know anyone who would ask, wife wears her own Rolex and my daughter is far too young to even know what it is.

I am OK with lending to a friend or family member if they asked. It is not like I do not know where they live!!!

My brother. He shares the same appreciation of watches.
My wife doesn't like bigger watches and she's perfectly with what she has (lucky for me because I would let her borrow whatever she wants but sh'es rough on her watches).

My son can wear my wife's watches without resizing, he is almost 6 months old. He would have to remove some of my permanent links and I am not too keen on it as time doesnt seem to be that important to him. I have not been asked by friends as they have their own.

My wife wears the DJ from time to time but seems to be harder on it than I am. I would also let my good friend and business mentor wear them and have offered but he is a staunch Heuer man and hates cyclops.

I made a thread here about my friend who demanded that I take care of his watch while he wasn't wearing it. He brought it to my house one night, without me asking, and said "why you're saving up for your next watch, you need to wear this." He had just gotten his first Rolex, and wasn't wearing this Top Gun any time soon.
