Nice sub, classic. Doesn't really matter go or not go, as long as you are happy with what you are doing.

Whether a person goes to college or not, it takes the same thing to earn a Rolex - hard work.
When I see a person with a gold or platinum Rolex, I respect them not because of their wealth, but because of the insane amount of hard work they must have put in to achieve that kind of success. You didn't go to college, but I can pretty much guarantee that you worked your a$$ off for that Sub on your wrist. Well done, sir! |

College is over rated from the perspective of a lowly arts degree. If I had a dollar for every student sob story about an arts degree graduate not being able to find a job and being saddled with $50K in student loans, I could buy another Rolex.
Chances are, these days someone who didn't go to college has more money than one who did. Last I checked, the student debt clock is at $1,248 Trillion. You think it will ever get paid back?????? |

I never finished college and have more than one rolex. However I really think it means nothing either way.
I know people who own $100,000 sports cars, never went to college, and live in their parents basements. I also know college grads who own 2+ million dollar homes and drive a 15 year old suburu. Point being, we all have our priorities and I'm not one to judge what one does or buys, but overall, college degrees as well as many other requisites make no difference in who you are and who you become. |

If you work hard, you can achieve anything. A college degree does not guarantee success. I know almost as many people with Masters degrees under their belt that cannot find a job anywhere as I do people with Masters degrees that have been very successful. |

Buying something you want to have is in no way in the connection of going or not going to the college.

Yes, you don't have to be rich or anything like that to have a nice Rolex. Most people can afford a £15k/$22K car and they probably spend £100 on a watch. But if you really like watches, you can have a £10K car and a £5K Rolex, just a question of where you spend your money, not having a huge amount.

Id like to think that sucess is measured in terms of personal happiness, friends and family
Congrats on your Sub, I'm sure you'd have found a way to buy it whether or not you went to college. |

College may give one a better chance of making more money, in general, but it does not define a person's intelligence or motivation to be successful. As far as watches are concerned, anyone can own a Rolex. One can panhandle on the streets of NYC and acquire a Rolex. I my own humble opinion, as long as it does not affect your lifestyle or that of your family, your motives or desires are safe. In my job, I have met too many people that would lie, cheat, or steal to acquire a belt, a shoe, or a watch that they think will give them power and status above others; something, they believe, material things falsely accomplish. My experience suggests that TRFs are above these notions.

I went to College, but was not very enthusiastic about it, and didn't enjoy it. Never finished, but hung around and took the classes I wanted to take, not based on any requirements.
Did OK for myself. |

In all seriousness, I really think it depends on the career path you are on these days...and I personally can think of no better way to reward yourself after you've put in the hard work to succeed than a Rolex. |

Never went to college, but I'm planning on going. I think after my wife gets her next promotion, I'm quitting work my full-time job and I'll be the only dude in community college wearing a Daytona.
I landed a part-time gig in a company that's RAPIDLY expanding, so with stock-options, I can do pretty well for myself. |

I suspect pretty much everyone here has a nice lifestyle, college degree or not. Contributions to society and rewards for those contributions aren't always measured by money and the things a person can buy with it.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics states that only 27% of us need a college degree to do our jobs and that 43% of us age 25 or older have a college degree. An Associates or Bachelor's degree is not a prerequisite to owning a Rolex, PP, AP, etc.
Enjoy your Rolex!

In my line of work (recording engineer/advertising)... a piece of paper on the wall means very very little to me, my clients, or my wallet. It all comes down to what can you produce.
