These are all great suggestions! Funny thing is, I've owned all these watches at one time or another but just can't seem to say "yes" this is the keeper!!!! I may have to start leaning towards the 114060 Submariner no date. Reason is, it's the watch I chose as my screen saver, must be I like it most!

Definitely the Sub. Milgauss is beautiful but the Sub has a better presence!

In the $5K ballpark I'd be looking at a GMT 16710. Pick up the other two bezels and you've got three looks for the price of one.

$5,600 can net you a BNIB Datejust II. That's exactly what I did a few weeks back and could not be happier about it...

+3. I just listed my 16570 over on omegaforums.net for $4100 (complete with box/papers). I'll list it here as well when I have a few more mins to spare. I bought it from Tony "justrolexes" Geha last year here on TRF. (sorry for the shameless hijack there).
Even if I wasn't selling one, I think the Exp II 16570 represents the best current value with Rolex, very likely to see price appreciation in the coming years. Of course, you have to love how it looks first, no sense buying a watch you don't absolutely LOVE just because you got a good price on it. If you don't love it, you won't end up wearing it, and if you don't wear it, why even own it? |

214270 for that price.
My old boss was telling me the other day that a friend of his picked up a 214270 as a golf watch. He ended up loving it so much that he wears it 24/7 and his other watches (a white dialed Patek 5980 and a Patek aquanaut world time) haven't been worn in months. A $5k watch that can knock two Pateks out of rotation can't be too bad! |

If you have to ask a group of complete strangers how to spend 5K I would save your money until you find something that sings to you.

16700, 16710, or 14060 would be my choices.

You will never want to sell it is the reason. Just add to it with a other Rolex! That is what I did. Working on number three now! |

If you only plan on owning one, go with the new explorer. If you plan to go with more than 1 eventually? Go sub. 4 line no date with holes.
