Rolex in the operating room

Talked with a nurse in the OR wearing a beautiful pink dial 31mm datejust on a jubilee. Guarantee few if any of her coworkers know it's a rolex. What a versatile watch looks as good with scrubs, as an evening gown, or a bathing suit. Can't wait to get my wife (also a nurse) the blue dialed 31mm

There are quite a few nurses sporting them in our OR as well

Couldn't agree more. My dentist wears the 36mm version...have admired it for years.

I have heard of people losing their Rolex while scrubbing in. Put it down at the sink and someone picked it up. Kind of a shame since the OR is usually close knit. I am talking hospital OR, not private surgicentres.

I had surgery a little over a year ago and my surgeon was wearing an older Turn O Graph.

The 31mm is a perfect size on my girlfriend, unfortunately she wants something in solid ever rose...

A lot of the units around here don't allow nurses to wear watches due to risk of infection

I thought that wearing jewelry in an OR was a big no-no due to risks of contamination....

yeah....they make an exception for Rolex... which are intrinsically bactericidal, antiseptic, near divine, and can also cure illness, stamp out disease, end world hunger, and inflate one's sense of self worth...almost malpractice NOT to bring it into the OR ...

My wife ties her's to her scrub drawstrings before scrubbing in... along with several diamond eternity bands. You can imagine the scratches on her Rolex.

Rolex used to make nurses' watches years ago.

I see another thread in the near future. "Can I operate on someone while wearing a Rolex?"

I'm always reminded of the game "Operation" when this topic comes up.

Oh, I suspect there are a more than a few people in the OR that would recognize a Rolex.

Isn't there published stories where surgeons have left instruments inside the body of one they've operated on? Well, if true, I wouldn't mind one leaving a Rolex behind. haha

Anaesthetists wear their watches into OR for obvious reasons.

Although I don't work in the OR, I wear mine in the endoscopy procedure rooms every day. I just make sure my gloves cover it along with my scrubs/gown.

And they were life saving. They should be mandatory in the operating room.

Yeah. I won't want any of those bodily fluids get onto the watch!
