We are going to Dinner by Heston next month, hope that will be just as good. Also enjoyed Fat Duck and Gordon Ramsay Chelsea.

Favorite, maybe the Sandals returning guest dinners. Maybe not the absolute best food available but given the totality of the dinner and surroundings its pure heaven for me. Something to look forward to every year.

The first time I ate at Todd English's original Olive's in Charlestown MA.
The first time I ate at the French Laundry Yountville CA.
Anytime I've eaten at Peter Lugar's Brooklyn NY

Tame by today's standards perhaps but the first time I ate at NOBU was transcendent! Malibu, CA, Beverly Hills CA, NY NY

Too many in LA to name..in the mood for Mexican? Sushi? Steak or an awesome breakfast? Chinese? Truly a "First World Problem."

My favorite places tend to be family-owned, with inventive, delicious dishes that I can't make at home. I can cook a great slow-cooked beef brisket, or pan sautéed salmon. My husband's cast iron skillet cooked ribeye steaks are second to none. So, when we go out, we enjoy things we can't make ourselves, such as sushi, Indian or Chinese, etc.

I couldn't pick the one greatest restaurant in L.A. Sorry for the non-answer.

Love both...Eataly hit an amazing balance as a place that draws tourists but locals like too. We do wine and cheese in the middle...put our names on the list for the pasta restaurant and by the time the wine and cheese is done, its pizza/pasta time. Their cacio y pepe pasta is fantastic.

Can't give you just one name... but I have recently been at the "Il flauto di Pan" in Ravello, Italy and, besides the scenery, the parmigiana was an out of body type of experience. Superb in every aspect.

My parents took me to La Tour d'Argent in 1989 on my first trip to Paris. They ordered the pressed duck for all of us and all I remember was wanting to throw up as they pressed the bones to make the sauce.
