WG DD Caseback Hallmark?

Hi all - do you have any thoughts on the meaning or significance of this hallmark or engraving in the center of my WG DD caseback? It's been there since I first removed the sticker. I was hoping David (crowncollection) or others with specific hallmark knowledge may have an idea. Thanks so much!

P.S. Please note this is not my picture. It was first posted by someone else but my engraving is identical. At that time, he and I were both looking for information about it. Thanks again for reading.

It is an extra import mark, some countries at various times ( unsure if this practice still exists) required gold parts to be marked visibly ( on the outside)hence your mark. You have a makers mark and import mark there. You would have to search import hallmarks of the world to identify which country yours mark was made in. Cheers. .

To follow up, David you did solve my problem entirely and you were 100% correct. I have confirmed the coronet in an oval marking on my DD caseback is indeed a French import hallmark. Thanks!

I believe this is what it stands for:
SIE = Abbreviation for Service des Impots des Entreprises, Companies Tax Office
French import
