I knew you were going to say that.

I am biased as I love Jeep. But I saw the M on the road yesterday, and I was blown away. Looks great. And then I looked up the specs. Whoah....

Just so all of our Amercian TRF friends can laugh, a SRT8 here in Australia is about US$70K, the X5M is double the price, in the US I am sure there is not $70K difference. All European cars have silly mark up and tax does the rest her downunder.

No contest for me...The X5M is superior in every aspect.

Unfortunately, they are nearly impossible to get. All the dealers in Florida are sold out of their allocations

Given that these two aren't even remotely close when it comes to price, I don't see why anyone would be comparing the two.

I watched two videos on YouTube doing a comparison of these two and the Cayenne GTS. It got me to thinking.

They are also two high performance SUV's and there are not a whole lot of those. Whenever you search for either, the articles always list the other as potential to think about if pondering a purchase.

Let's put it this way: unless it's under warranty, I tell my clients to just let the other side have the MOPAR products in the divorce. Dodge Ram trucks aside, Chrysler /Dodge products have been rubbish for about 40 years. Utter rubbish. I love the Jeep Wrangler, but every time I think of buying one, I read the owner reviews and scamper

I drive the X5M and it's coming up for end of lease. I posed a similar question.
I drove the SRT8 to see if I wanted to make a change.
Answer is simple.
If money isn't an issue....X5 is superior in every possible way.
If it is an issue...Jeep is a ton of fun to drive.

The X5 isn't changing next year. They just introduced the current model last year and the X5M is new this year

1) Never, NEVER pay over MSRP for a car. Period. There are plenty of dealers out there (M's are depreciation bombs so be VERY careful!)

2) If you go Jeep, wait for Hellcat version which is rumored to be coming out.http://truckyeah.jalopnik.com/report...cat-1712338623

Thats exactly what I say

Unfortunately, there are too many people in FL with more money than brains. Braman BMW in Miami had the exact X5M i wanted and was asking $15k over sticker. And it sold

i'm actually was a BMW guy and have owned 8 in my life but i prefer the SRT8. if i'm buying a sport-brute, its gotta have Uncle Sam dna.

the M badge used to mean something more than an option package.

While I agree that BMW is overdoing it with the M-sport options just like MB is doing with AMG, there is no comparing an M-sport option with an M car.

Noooooooooooo. Don't do that. Never pay sticker or over for any car I don't care how limited on how great it is that's basically like throwing money in the ocean and watching it just float away. You'll never get it back.

The only voice of reason in this whole thread and a man that knows cars. listen to him.

The M badge is exactly that an overpriced Badge. When Mopar puts the hellcat engine in the jeep it will annihilate everything in its class
