Day Date at the United Nations

Theres an old rolex day date ad that says If you were speaking here (UN) you'd wear a rolex.

Has anyone ever been to the United Nations or any major political organization and saw someone wearing a day date?

I used to work for a branch that frequented the United Nations especially during the United Nations General Assembly. Throughout the years of being there I have spotted one Day Date on an international speaker. Theres a lot of Sub's or Sub like's in the crowd.

Nice ad...although I don't think wearing a Rolex is a pre-requisite for speaking.

Rolex prices have grown way faster than inflation. $250 in 1970 is only about $1500 in today's economy. So yeah, a time machine would be a huge benefit. If you could buy a brand new 114060 for $1500, you'd do it.

Double ouch! Lol

I'd buy a handful :)

Though I can imagine that more work goes into the manufacturing of a modern Rolex than did in the 1970's. Maybe not 5 times as much lol

Somehow I don't think that advertisement would sway many purchasers today.
