Anyone else take this route?

Others will have differing opinions but in my experience, the RO does not suit those activities. Keep it the hell away from MacBook pros and door jambs for sure.

I traded away my lvc for an AP and will most likely be buying another. If you like the lvc as I did, don't trade it.

good to know! thank you. I love my LVC and have no plans to get rid of it as of now. Of course just fixated on the RO at the moment and am trying to fast track it ;)

Well not like I'm slamming my watches into walls on the regs but you wear a watch everyday, it's bound to take some knocks.

Basically asking if the RO is the type of watch that owners baby, or realist ally wear as a daily user?

Love the Ingy but their is no comparison to the RO, my advice would be to save for the RO.

I wear mine 5 days a week, sometimes more. It is a great daily wearer and can take everything you can throw at it. You are going to get dings and scratches. Live with them and know that AP will restore the watch to new during service and just enjoy the watch. It is a fantastic piece and a true classic.

still would not take a 42mm 3227 Inge over a RO. But it is a nicer watch then the newer 3239's.....

The RO is my one and only watch. It does have less water resistance than the sub, so it depends on what kind of swimming you do. I generally swim with my pebble watch so I can adjust my Pandora music, and see any incoming calls or texts.

I think it holds up perfectly fine for a daily. I've been wearing mine everyday for a month, and it still looks very good. I honestly think it shows scratches much less than Rolex PCLs do. I think my LVC clasp had more scratches than my RO as well, just because the clasp on it is so thick it is harder to protect. The thick clasp and lugs were huge parts of why that watch didn't last long for me.

I don't get people not saying to get it as an only watch because it's more fragile, its not really; to me that's like saying don't date a hot girl because it would hurt more if you broke up.

If you really love your LVC though, try to be patient. I'm learning to take this path as well.

I will be honest and say that I haven'thad a desire to put a Rolex on after feeling the quality of AP too. YMMV.

Great insight here thank you! Especially coming from a former LVC owner. I think I will always want to hold onto my sub, so patience it is!

Swimming depth btw is never really more than a residential deep end ;) but desk diving I'm pretty serious about, so good to know about the clasp comparison.
