What do we think of Urwerk?
Ok I understand they're not the most beautiful watches around, and that they're not cheap, but they are IMO quite interesting, not for me at this stage but for someone who has a lot of money and watches and wants a very fun one to wear from time to time I think it's not bad…
Here's a few pics from the web of models I find interesting, you find them awful or do some have a little appeal to you? |

Cool brand but I am not the type who can pull of those watches, nor can I afford them.

When you first look at one, imo, you could be forgiven to think that it's not a mechanical watch

Well some I find nice, again if I had the financial means to have the pieces I dream about, I would be happy to had one of them as I find them amazing technologically Well yes but I like them, but understand if you don't, they are quite special… Never seen them in real but they look extremely well made and finished, even if they are completely different than other high end brands, even than RM pieces which are also technically advanced though in a very different way IMO |

I like them. Got to see them firsthand at Basel 2013. Wouldn't mind sporting one if I could afford it............so mute point.

Very intriguing and innovative technology.
I am not big on the looks of them though, but they are way out of my price range. Even if I had the cash for one, there are several other watches that would want more than one.

Star Wars for the wrist comes to mind.
Interesting looking but too far from the traditional for me.

I'm a mechanical engineer so I love them. I was lucky enough to be travelling in Switzerland and went into the boutique store. They let me try on a bunch of different watches with an average price of $100k.
I love odd complications and movements. Its like my DSSD... I'll never go to any depth but I appreciate the technology that is required to do it. I love them. I have no idea what time it is... but I love the designs!

I think they're amazing and would love to own own, particularly the one that comes with a tweed strap. Sadly out of my price range.

Love to own one someday. Technology behind these modern watches quite amazing. You cannot just stick watch traditional and classic all the time. Break the rule and enjoy it.

I think they certainly are very interesting watches however I much prefer the aesthetics of MB&F watches which occupy the same niche. But for me I'd rather have an RM over both brands.

In that realm, I think I find the MB&F designs more desirable. Although don't think I'll be buying anything like those anytime soon

Some of their watches are not my cup of tea but I like the way they produce the watches and cranky idea behind it.Their price is beyond my budget and what is even more prohibitive thing for me is the fact that their products only can be serviced by them, even a certified accredited by many SWISS brands wouldn't like to put hands on these
God forbid, what if they go bankruptcy

I would try out a HYT ahead of one of these - very clever stuff though!

Wow I have just seen what HYT trade for in the secondary market - I may just buy one!
Sorry for going off topic! |

Like the technology but the look does not do it for me. The least radical and the cheapest MB&F would be as radical as I would go (legacy 101 all internal movement) but my collection is now done I think and I would be worried about ability to re sell.
Wife has been very supportive of hobby but she says the MB&F is a walk too far, ERWERK is even crazier.

I have the 210.
I now prefer Indies over commercial brands like Patek, Rolex, or RM. |
