Yacht-Master guys; what do you do to keep the finish on your bezel?
I have had my Yacht Master for only a couple weeks now, and I already have a small scratch on the satin part of my plt bezel. What do you guys use to keep it looking correct?

Really....I've been wearing for over a year and bezel is still flawless.
Disclaimer: I work in an office, and it's in rotation with other watches (probably gets worn the least) I guess only advice is to Be Careful |

I work in an office too, but I also have a 14 month old German Shepard. She gets really excited when I get home, and I think one of her nails got the bezel. Its not a scratch, it is more of a scuff.

No point in trying to avoid scratches, they will happen. I have also seen a great guide online (link below) http://watchmakingblog.com/2011/09/1...master-bezels/ |

Get rid of the Shepherd.
Just kidding, German Shepherd is my favorite breed of dogs. As posted by others, be careful around the dog and accept the fact that scratches will happen, after all its just a watch. |

I have never used the brushes but have read on the internet that it works. The only concern is that the scratch on your watch is on the satin bezel. These brushes work by buffing out and blending in the scratches.

You should wear and enjoy the watch and stop worrying about scratches because they are inevitable.
Don't use "tools" to get rid of the scratches because it will never get better from those.

Take the watch a couple of laps around a military obstacle course...
No, but seriously. If you will have the need to refinish/polish the watch after every single scratch then you will have it competely polished to death in just a few years. Use it, and then have it lightly polished after a few years. |

Be over protective. Even when drunk.

Yeah whatever you do....don't mess with it. Especially that bezel, if you make different pattern to hide the scratch....it will look worse.
I have used a cape cod (gently a few times on Bracelet PCL's) I have used a scratch pen once or twice on brushed areas of the bracelet. BUT I wouldn't touch the bezel 9 out of 10 un professionals like myself can make it look worse. |

Nothing when I owned it.
It was in my rotation, which meant it was worn anywhere from once a week to three times a week over a 5 year period. At that time, I never scratched the bezel. I do not baby my watches, but I am careful in what I do with them. If it did happen to me, I would just leave it and enjoy the watch and then send it into the RSC when the time was right for service and polishing. This is my way of thinking for all of my watches. Scuffs, dings, scratches, etc. just add to the character of the watch.

Could it be some of the dogs nail rubbing off?
Did you try lightly cleaning with a toothbrush? Maybe some of the mark would come off? Nothing more abrasive than that. I also read in a post that RSC would not clean up the brushed part of the bezel because it is sand blasted. Don't know if anyone can chime on with diff experience

I don't wear daily so I'm expecting to go a while before I mark it bad enough to send to RSC
