Incoming Seiko Tuna SBBN031

I just picked up a brand new SBBN031 from Chino Watch Co. I looked at both this and the older version SBBN0015, but the slightly better lume and diashield of the newer version won me over. Add the newer battery and a great price from chino, and the decision was easy. One week after ordering I got this nice box in the mail.

Off came the very nice (and heavy) bracelet.

On came the bonetto cinturini 284 from holbensfinewatchebands on ebay. And here she is, in all her splendor.

On this strap it weighed in at 118 grams. I had been wearing a shogun all day, so at first it seemed a quite heavy. After a few minutes though, it felt more solid than heavy. This bonetto is soft and pliable, but still has enough strength to hold the watch firmly in place (a thin nato can flop around with heavy divers... not here).

I'm generally not a big watch guy, as I often prefer lighter 38-40mm watches. My SARB035 being the kind of size I tend to like (Of course my shogun is 44mm, but it's very light in full titanium). I was worried about this being to big and bulky. My initial reaction is that the SBBN031 is fairly large, but certainly wearable. Not a whole lot bigger then the shogun. It certainly is not gaudy or excessive. I love everything this diver stands for, in terms of functionality, history, and wrist presence.
