Hi fellows,

After my Explorer 214270 and Explorer II 216570 polar I decided to test the vintage water a little. The venerable Datejust seem to be s perfect candidate for that.

What say you?

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately the screws are seized tight on the Jubilee so even my watchmaker couldn't remove the extra links for the bracelet to fit so I'm sourcing an aftermarket one.

Spoonage: wearing any one piece often proves to be more difficult than I would have thought. It's not a big collection but some pieces are not getting any wrist time at all as it is.

Coincidently I have a 75190 from 1992 that I bought new...when it only costed usd1k

Sam, in fact yours is what inspired me to even start looking at 16014 Datejust in the first place!! :-)

Cool. :) Actually, a couple of other members said the same thing about getting a 16014 to me as well. I never saw myself as an enabler, lol. Enjoy!

Yours looks great on the vintage minimal strap you put on it. That strap is a beautiful shade of brown, and really adds to the vintage charm. One thing I really like about the silver dial, is that it goes with any colour/type of strap. I got a camouflage strap for it, and it works. Did your watchmaker try applying heat to loosen up the jubilee screws?

My 16014 is from 1985, 8.3 mil serial. My 1675 GMT is from '78 with 5.5 mil serial. Is yours a pie pan dial? I can't really tell from your pic. Maybe you got a 1601, great watch and a bona fide vintage. It would have no quick set date and a slower beat movement. Yes, there is so much to learn in vintage. I'm just a novice. The experts are in the vintage forum and are very helpful.
