Wear mine everywhere. Pool, hot tub, ocean, shower, etc. no issues.

Since this doesn't seem to be a huge failure point, I'm guessing they engineered it "good enough" for whatever typical soaps, sunscreens, etc come in contact with the seals.

It's not a shitty gasket, that's the point.
