Time travel question

If you could travel through time, only once, would you go back in time, or into the future?

I would go back and start off in my junior year of high school again. Not a bill or a care in the world except drinking and getting laid I would only want to visit for a while, though. I guess I'm pretty lucky, I finally ended up where I always wanted to be, here and now

Come to think of it, skipping ahead to Thursday might be the best bet. Get the winning Mega-Millions numbers and hurry back

Sorry, guys, I already know what the past was like. I'd like to see what's ahead for mankind. The burning question in my mind is: Will we survive? I'm dying to know the answer to that one.

I think I'd prefer to stay where I am. At least I know what to expect at the present time. Lets face it, if I went back the Nike girls would be too young and if I went forward, they would be too old.

Most sensible answer so far!!

I say to hell with the future and screw the past. No, I wouldn't like to go back into the past, except, as CJ rightly put it, just one day before the Powerball Lotto draw to win like the clappers and then visit all my TRF friends all over the world with a Rolex gift for each and every one of these guys whom I love so much!!

Other than that, I value TWO things most in life....NO, sorry, make that THREE - Health, Family and Friends!!

JJ

Just running a scenario through, thinking out loud.
Picturing this....
JJ comes to visit, I tell my wife I am just going for lunch with a friend from the TRF.
I come home with a shiny new Yammy.
"No dear, JJ is JUST a friend!"
"No I didn't give anything up for a present like this"
"No, no strings attached"
"No , no sheep attached either"
Yeah, like she would believe me.
Heck, I would be doing the same thing If the big one ever landed in my lap like that.
Only one other thing I would have at the top of my list. Annonymously pay of our best friends mortgage. Just go to there bank and talk to the manager.
That would be priceless.
Dare to dream.

Hey Launch Mini you forgot the third option in the poll STAY WITH THE PRESENT.

Take it from me the future isn't very good until you reach the 25th millenia when what remains of the human race becomes immortal. Interbreeding with alien races starts a bit later on around the 30th millenia. If you don't believe me, it's starting already. Look at some of the freaks in Hollywood today who have been surgically 'improved' and some of the replacement parts we can be fitted with. Growing an arm and other body parts genetically is just around the corner.

The past can be fun. Mid nineteenth century is nice.

Got you thinking hasn't it?

I voted to go back in time so I could rectify some mistakes I made in the past. Also, so I could pick up some Paul Newman Daytonas for a couple of hundred bucks, and then auction them off in the present.

I voted to go back in time to see John Harrison make his famous marine chronometer in the 1720s. Well Ed there's a law in physics which says that species/races simply cannot outlive their own intelligence. IE, once a species/race becomes too intelligent, it will inevitably use that intelligence to destruct itself. Man still is the most dangerous animal today on this planet Earth.
