Wear whatever you want, because nobody will notice a darn thing about your watch, a tanline, or your wrist.

It's all about the lady in the dress.

My intended wedding attire faux pas

Gents, just wanted to follow up and say thanks for the help with the watch decision. I am rarely sans Sea-Dweller these days, but the pocket watch was the right choice for the attire.

Besides, when I saw my wife in her dress, I forgot entirely about the Rolex vs. other watch debate very quickly, and nobody else present noticed anything but her. Nor should they have!

When I say our party was incredible, including our very own second line jazz band parade to the reception, complete with police escort, through the French Quarter and down Bourbon Street, prior to the incredible reception at Napoleon House, that's selling it short.

The band Arcade Fire happened to have arranged a second line parade in honor of David Bowie for that afternoon at the same time, so there were several thousand extra revelers in the Quarter, many of whom were dressed in Bowie-esque costume and ready to rock. His music blared through the Quarter, which was so cool, and that parade ended at my favorite bar in New Orleans. One-Eyed Jacks, to boot.

Besides, nothing like walking to Jackson Square to get married (since transport by other means was impossible with the Bowie parade) while 6k people sing "Under Pressure" at the top of their lungs, haha.

Here we are with my lovely bride picking up her beautiful, flowing dress (and me being fortunate enough to assist, as necessary) so we could walk the parade route.

Unbelievable experience, and best day of my life!

Thanks again for the input!
