Stange experience last night...

I was out last night in a bar with my friend.

Whilst paying for some drinks a guy from behind me grabs my wrist and says to my, "Hey, what watch is that?"....

I looked at him a bit strangely and said its a DayDate 40, so he turned to his wife and said, see, told you it wasn't Michael Kors... Pretty much ruined my evening....

Well there you go guys, it's official, Rose Gold DayDate 40 looks like an Michael Kors.

Do you think it might be my age? I'm 31?

Most mk watches are gold tone and I'm guessing that's how they tried to make the connection. The strange part is him grabbing your wrist. Make sure you didn't get pick pocketed.

Don't let that bother you, the majority of people do not know very much about watches.

I don't see it as a big deal. Just because an uninformed person does not know your watch does not make it less than what it is.

Just be very careful of that kind of distractions from pick pockets.

I don't think my response would have been an answer to his question.

I hate to say it, but to some degree, I agree.

Not sure why it would ruin your night tho.

Not keen on being grabbed on the wrist in that manner or environment either. I would've immediately put a good distance between the two of us. But that's just me.

No... not really. But it might be that particular bar. Bar upgrade indicated!

Also agree with other posters that one has to be hyper-aware when this happens in a crowded place. Classic pickpocket misdirection tactic.

I was just thinking this.

Lots of tough guys for sure. Especially considering this is a pretty geeky place to hang out.

MK has taken design cues from Rolex for the last, however many years. Think of it like this, instead of your Day Date 40 looking like a MK, it's the MK that looks like the Day Date! 🤘🏻😎

Who's Michael Kors? Which would have been my reply to that situation along with a look that would make sure that clown would think twice about grabbing anything other than his own ankles.

A similar thing happened to me once. I told the young man that I could not afford Michael Kors and that this was a cheap Rolex copy.

I personally love that people think it a MK watch, who wears a Sub btw. Makes me appreciate your choices of our fellow TRF peeps even more and getting me closer to call out great Rolex spottings in the wild.
The other day a member of our team wore a pristine 1016, i just couldn't get over it, but kept my mouth shut, despite discussing Explorers the night before with another team member who was in the room that day.

I have a serious problem when some A-hole violates my personal space. Grabbing my wrist would not end in a very nice way, just sayin'.
