Both are great but for a GMT tool I think one with a rotating bezel is more functional.

BLNR...
1) It's good-looking no matter what. 2) A pilot's watch will do nicely in your collection. 3) It's great for timing critical things like how long it actually takes when the guy/girl at the drive-through window says "Could you please pull forward, your double Quarter Pounder with cheese will be right out". |

BLNR !!!
A timeless pilots watch !!! Versatile and functional at the same time ... You already have an explorer 1...why would u need a number 2.... Esthetically, just a go to watch all around ... Perfection !!! PS... I recently used mine for timing critical data... |

I agree with those who suggest to get both, if money is not a concern. I recently got a BLNR for much more. And both watches are beautiful in their own ways.

I have both and if only choosing one I would go with the BLNR. In fact, if I could only have one SS Rolex that would be it.

BLNR will get more attention than Exp II. Which do you prefer? Stealth or bling?

I was in the same position, ended up with the BLNR. I would say though, if you haven't already, try them on first!
A lot of people feel that the EXP II wears very big, this wasn't an issue for me as my wrists are 7.5+ (I'm wearing a huge 46mm 16mm thick cheap German dive watch atm!) but for many this is a big issue with the new Explorer II. In the end, for me, I just preferred the BLNR, it's my first Rolex and was a grail for me, I was only looking at the Explorer as I didn't think I could source the BLNR. You can't really go wrong whichever you choose, they're both special pieces. I know I've been absolutely no help, sorry, and in that vein can I also just play the TRF Enabler for a moment and say.....get both!! Good luck in choosing and wear the winner in good health. |

I think the Explorers 1 & 2 are the coolest watches Rolex produces....
You already have a very nice collection, and with a smaller wrist I'm sure they ALL look great on you. (If the Explorer-1 was 42mm, it would be the only watch I'd own, but I personally bought a pair of 42mm Explorer-2's for my 8-inch wrist) I wore a Submariner from the early 80's for a long time, but everyone seems to own a Sub-GMT-Rotating-Bezel Rolex. In 35 years I've never ONCE rotated my bezel....and I used to Scuba Dive. On my Explorer-II's I always keep the 24 hour hand set at the relative 24 hour position. |

I chose the BLNR when faced with that choice.
I have no idea what you will do.

I chose the BLNR as well. I had originally planned on the Explorer II but once I saw the BLNR I couldn't pass it up.

You guys might have convinced me to get both....i would be able to purchase either immediately. However, the second one the AD has offered to hold for me and "lock in" the price and i could pay it off slowly over several months with no interest or anything. Sound ok to you guys?

With your wrist size the EXP might be a bit to big. But that's a lame excuse for me to say BLNR tbh i love the EXP but only with the white dial. On a serious note the 40mm probably fits you better
Good luck and enjoy your new watch

My wrist is 6.75 as well and I own both. The BLNR by far wears better and is my favorite of the two.

I have the BLNR and was so thrilled about it I wrote an article that may help you:

Based on what you have, the BLNR is the comfortable choice for you... That being said, with what you have I would go Explorer II!! It will be a great contrast in your collection, and it is a DAMNED fine piece of candy.
And if I may add, the white face on the ExpII is just... |
