ROO gator strap question

My perfect fit is in between two holes. On a cold day or inactive day I can just wear the gator strap on a particular hole. However, when it gets warmer its too tight. My question is, The strap is new, if I continue to wear it on the hole that is just right sometimes and too tight other times, is it likely to stretch a bit or should I just punch an in between hole? Clearwater offered to do it for me however, I no longer there and would have to source somewhere in Ontario to do it as I'd only do it if it were done right.
