Today was a bit of a rough day at work. Typical Monday on a Tuesday getting back from a holiday type of day. You know how it goes. Anyway, I did have one thing to look forward to, my Sub C came home in the mail from RSC Dallas after being serviced. I got home at 5:30 and sure enough, there was my package waiting for me. I opened it up and started looking it over. Looks like they did a real nice job... wound the crown and the watch started ticking away. Sweet! I have my baby back after 5 long weeks and she seems to be running and looking great! Then I tilt it in the light while looking it over and I see this.... WHAT THE ****?! know it looks like the scratches are on top of the date bubble in the photo but after carefully looking, they are somehow on the bottom of it. It has to be on the bottom of the crystal since there is no mention of replacing the date bubble during service (and there was no request or need to either). Either way I am livid. I paid $650 for this service and whoever did it seemingly did a great job except for scratching the crap out of my crystal. I don't even know what to say. This is not my first bad experience with RSC Dallas and this watch but surely is the last after they make this right. Thanks for listening to my rant. I'll let you all know what they end up doing. I am going to say a full crystal replacement with a properly magnified date window is in order. Hope you all have a better night than I am.

Oh wow that's bad. Definitely not up to Rolex standards. I'd have a chat with the manager of the Dallas RSC if I were you. (S)he would not be pleased with the condition that left their house in.

That is BS, what the hell kinda quality control to they have before a watch leaves the RSC?? We pay enough for service (actually too much IMHO) and they have the balls to send back a timepiece with a badly scratched cyclops?? Wow!

wow...un-f**king believable. the Dallas/NY RSCs sure have been getting their share of customer service/QA 'issues' lately regardless of whether the watch is a vintage or a current model.
perhaps it's time for all those concerned to consider opting for a reliable independent factory-authorized RSC within close geographic proximities. personally speaking, have never gone the factory route...the Rolex Service Center/SF (an independent factory-authorized RSC) has been servicing my watch for over 35 years...never any problems or issues, just an escalating service/repair bill to reflect inflation & changing times. |

Totally sucks.
I suspect they had two apart and you got the wrong crystal. There is no realistic way to accidentally scratch a piece of sapphire that deeply. Certainly not at a watch shop. I hope they sort it faster than five weeks for you! |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the moral support. I definitely try to never come on here and rant but this one put me over the top and you guys are the only group that would understand. I considered an independent but it needed a new pearl on the bezel as the old pearl had lume separating from the sapphire cover and they did a great job on replacing that. I'm definitely going as high on the managerial food chain as I can with this and will only use the likes of Rik or Vanessa from now on. Will let you know how my talk goes tomorrow. I'm going to have them look at the photo before I send it and ask for a return label. No way I should have to pay to ship this back.

That is unbelievable and equally unacceptable.
Take as many photographs as you can. If you don't get a satisfactory response from RSC then if it were my watch, I would be straight on to Geneva.

Sorry man. NYC RSC scratched my 1 week old Milgauss last summer when fixing a dust under crystal issue. Not only scratchea but they gave me my watch with the bracelet incorrectly installed (reversed)!
