How long until Daytona-C can be picked up for < MSRP?
Any predictions on how long it will take for the daytona-c to be available for < msrp on the second hand market? I understand the frenzy as its only 'slowly' entering the marketplace but does anybody have a good estimate on how long until they are widely available? 1 year? 5 years?
Is this the first time such demand for a newly released watch has appeared? Was there anything similar with the blnr or sub-c's going on? Love the watch but so far pricing to me is outrageous. **OOPS** wrong section, please move this to main forums thanks! |

Sir. Really who knows. As for ADs it will depend on the geographical location worldwide. I would say years. Even then they most likely won't be out in display cases. A person would have to ask for one then go through the test to see if you are worthy. I.E. Have spent enough or are willing to spend enough. They might have one in the safe.
Secondary market I would say years. And years. |

It all depends on how quickly Rolex want to roll out supply. My personal feeling is Rolex is going to want to milk the buzz for a few years by limiting distribution and in 3-4 years slowly increase to what's normal for Daytona AD allotment.BLNR was a little crazy when it first came out, but nothing like this.

I think in 1 year, you can pick up Daytona C's for about $15k-16K USD. Just a little above MSRP+tax.

I heard they're rolling out quicker than expected. I can't see the point overpaying.

It will be a while, very hard to get from AD's even on the list, some of them gave me up to 5 years (just crazy) and grey dealers are selling them as they have them, I don't see the price getting close to MSRP from grey dealers for a very very long time.

No, it is a regular occurrence whenever there is a new release; yes, it was the same with the GMT ceramics (all of them, not just the blnr) and the Sub ceramics.

Less than MSRP from an AD? Did ADs ever discount the old SS Daytona? In 2016 doesn't count.

To answer your question. I believe it will be two years minimum before resellers are selling these below msrp. Unless the economy tanks hard then all bets are off.
