6 Days with the Daytona 116500

Shame the quality of my photography doesn't match the quality of the watch...

I'm delighted with it, it's really surprised me.

I really love my Sea Dweller, so much so that when I bought it I sold my old SD 16600 and a GMT 116710 because they weren't getting any wrist time. But the Daytona has taken it up a notch.

Don't get me wrong, they are very different watches and as such it's not right to do a direct comparison, and the Dweller is still a watch I really like, but the Daytona just has something extra.

Firstly, it fits me better than the Sea Dweller; my wrists are pretty small at 6.5" and whilst the SD doesn't look too big for me I don't think, the Daytona is a better size for sure.

Secondly, because it doesn't have the bulk of the Dweller, it flies slightly more under the radar and works much better with a suit.

Thirdly, I think the Bezel looks terrific; I really like the fully graduated bezel of the Sea Dweller, but the numbering on the Daytona really makes it looks special.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this Daytona is better than the 116520; I have always liked the Daytona but I personally am not a fan of polished bezels; others have the opposite view of course and I understand that. But my first Daytona experience is fantastic.

I really didn't think anything could live up to the Sea Dweller for me, in fact so much so that I nearly cancelled my Daytona order because I feared it wouldn't get any wrist time; amazingly, the opposite is true.

Two things that the ceramic bezel offers to owners who wear it daily is this: no more swirlies on the bezel and no more black paint being rubbed away like happened on the old bezel between the 400-160 UPH marks.

It really does, genuinely blown away by it. The ceramic bezels aren't to everyone's taste, but if you like them, you'll love this one.

What is your thoughts on the weight? When I tried it on, I was surprised on how light it was compared to my BLNR. I'm still waiting for the call when the white one is available.

It is really light compared to the Sea Dweller. I have always been a fan of heavy watches, but the lighter watch does wear easier.

Thanks for the feedback, seems like everyone who has taken delivery of the Daytona C is really liking it.
