Thank you all for the kind advice! I have narrowed it down to a no date Sub. Now to decide between ceramic/ pre-ceramic. Thoughts?

I love my sub-c date. So, my vote goes to the ceramic version. Because of the evolutionary improvements over it's predecessor: ceramic bezel (an improvement over the metal, with it's increased durability) as well as an improved bracelet and clasp. However, you can't go wrong with either & at the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference.

The BLNR and the DJ cover just about all the social circumstances, except for strict formal occasions.

You can always branch out into the Professional line later.

Great choice! I have a BLNR and a 14060, it makes a great pair.

I say go pre-ceramic. The BLNR represents the newer generation of Rolex and the 14060 will represent the previous, which many consider the apex of Rolex tool watch design.

Daytona, Exp II or DJ II.
All perfect wing men for the BLNR.
Sub C no date and new Daytona C white dial is next on my hit list.
Have a thing for white dials and work so well opposite the black gloss Rolex dials.

If you're going to spend another ten grand on another watch you might as well try a beautiful dressy piece from other manufacturers rather than buying another similar looking watch. If you did insist on it being a Rolex then a Datejust would be perfect.
