Why is this refinished 1665 DRSD dial $1500?

To me, it looks the same as all the other "refinished" dials that we have collectively gotten kicked off of ebay. Am I missing something?

Is this one a truly refinished dial by a professional, trusted dial refinisher? I'm confused.

Because that's what he wants for it.

What would a "trusted dial refinisher" be? Dial blank looks to be a genuine Singer blank.

Trusted dial refinishers are those reputable individuals and companies who, with the fullest integrity, receive a genuine dial in bad shape (from a customer) and make it look new, because otherwise the dial would be unreadable or in such a state of advanced decay, that particles (ink/corrosion/lume/paint) could end up affecting the movement -- as opposed to the people in the far east who are churning out fake "refinished" Singer dials sometimes for under $100, but almost always under $200.

I've gotten several of those listings kicked off of ebay and was looking for more when I ran across this one.

Thought I would see if this is known to be a real refinished dial or if it is a dial completely manufactured in the far east and sold as "refinished" in order to stay under the radar on ebay.
