It is my opinion that this entire thread could have been avoided if Chip had simply clicked on the triangle and explained the situation to the mods.

I suggested to Chip that he could have clicked on the triangle, but he specifically said he did not want to do that.

In the end, both posters were treated equally. That is supposedly what Chip wanted, but this thread just keeps going.

There's more happening here than is obvious, at least to me. I've only been a member of TRF for a little over a month.
