The music was beautiful and the video very well executed.

I must admit that I spent most of the video totally confused until the guys with the Mexican flag showed up, then it all came together.

Bravo!

Dear TRf family: I started this thread earlier today as I received the video....I would like to further explain...

Mariachi, as you all know, is a must in mexican culture. The joyful sound of instruments playing together always bring smiles to those listening, and to a mexican, the sound of that trumpet, followed by guitars, violins and the vast array of instruments mean goosebumps in our skin, pride in our hearts and tears of joy in our eyes.

El Huapango de Moncayo and Guadalajara are two iconic songs that have been in our history since the early 40's....

Wiki:

José Pablo Moncayo García (June 29, 1912 – June 16, 1958) was a Mexican pianist, percussionist, music teacher, composer and conductor. "As composer, José Pablo Moncayo represents one of the most important legacies of the Mexican nationalism in art music, after Silvestre Revueltas and Carlos Chávez."[1] He produced some of the masterworks that best symbolize the essence of the national aspirations and contradictions of Mexico in the 20th century.

Alejandro Fernandez started a campaign this week to promote our culture. The campaign: Music Breaks Frontiers.

From Billboard:
The campaign kicked off with a mariachi flash mob taking over La Plaza Mayor in Madrid with 11 members of the Mariachi Real de México joining 23 musicians from the Film Symphony Orchestra.

...and who is Alejandro?

Wiki:

Alejandro Fernández-Abarca (Spanish pronunciation: [aleˈxandro feɾˈnandes]; born 24 April 1971) is a Mexican professional singer.

Nicknamed as "El Potrillo" (The Colt) by the media and his fans,[1] he has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.[2] Alejandro is the son of the ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.[3] He originally specialized in traditional, earthy forms of Mexican folk music, such as mariachi and ranchera until he branched out into pop music with great success.

Over the course of his career he has been awarded two Latin Grammy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Watching him perform Granada (tones on 4:45-4:55) is something else....https://youtu.be/JZ6q8F7G_zk

So to me, listening and watching a flash mob in Spain, la Madre Patria to promote my country, my music, my history...put together by one of the best performers we have and playing iconic 1940's music....makes me proud. VERY proud.

Gracias, Alejandro Fernandez, for such an amazing job!!!!!
