Issue with Genuine Rolex Band?

I purchased a submariner 16610 from Sarasota Watch Company, roughly a month ago and haven't had an issue with the watch except for the band.

I didn't notice anything of it as I figured the watch was supposed to do that, but it looks to me as the Rolex Submariner 16610 band is supposed to have a circle that pops the link out for the extension? Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I can't seem to find it and my extension seems to keep popping out on it's own.

I know their a reputable company and have been in business for quite a while so I'm assuming there's no issue with the authenticity of the watch and I had it inspected from another AD as well who confirmed it's authentic, so I'm not sure is there's a clip that is warn out or something else?

Here are some pictures.

I thought that circle was only on the 16600 watches (maybe the 16660 too)!?

If your 16610 is pre-2000 then it has a 93150 bracelet.

The diver's extension you're showing in your pictures is consistent with this bracelet, which should also have folded metal end-links (non-SEL).

The reference number of the bracelet should be stamped on the clasp blades and on the back of the links closest to the watch head.

The diver's extension that locked in place and had the circle to press to release was included in the 93250 bracelet, and was used on the 16610 from 2000 on.

The same type of extension was also used in the 93260(A) bracelet that was used on the sapphire Sea Dwellers.

Thank you.

Are they suppose to pop out when the band is open or is there a warn part?

A 1997 bracelet won't have the little circle shown above. Matters not, as millions of 16610's are floating around with the same divers extension as yours and work great. It either is not being fully locked into the clasp by you, or it needs to be adjusted...which may require you to have done by an AD depending on a few factors!

It should however take a pretty decent amount of forced pressure from your thumb to get it to lock into place with a solid "snap"!

Just to clarify a bit further. In this version of the extension (93150) only the first blade (that attaches to the clasp) locks inside the clasp: the hinge between blades (blue arrow) has spring loaded ends and locks in one of the second set of holes (red arrow). The second blade (that attaches to the bracelet link) has no means to lock into anything.

Earlier versions of the 93150 clasp had a couple of square indentations on the sides just behind the adjustment holes (red arrow) that held the second blade in place inside the clasp by friction on the link sides (blue arrow). Picture is of a 1989-ish 93150 clasp.

At some point these square indentations were dropped.
