Size comparison help
Thank you for any observations with regard to the below question.
I am a DSSD (blue) and SS Daytona owner (blk dial). I am ready for another watch, I have become very accustomed and now much prefer the larger size of the DSSD. I would like to add another watch, I would like to know how much smaller the 42mm Ex II wears than the DSSD? Or how much larger the Ex II wears compared to the Daytona? Cheers for your thoughts. GG |

Size comparison help
As you already know, the DSSD is the largest Rolex with 44mm. The Daytona is of average size and wears even smaller than the GMT or sub and SD4K even though they're all 40mm. The explorer II should wear somewhere between the sub/gmt and the DSSD and even almost same as GMT/sub since they both have wider lugs and the triplock whereas the explorer II has normal lugs and twinlock.

OP: I've always felt the EXP2 wears a little on the small side of 42, maybe b/c of the steel bezel as opposed to a colored bezel. I believe the difference in bezels to be somewhat of an optical illusion. For instance, both the Pelagos and the EXP2 are 42, but I've always felt the Pelagos to wear larger. And, from what I've read, most of the reviews of the Daytona C seem to say that it wears larger than the steel bezel version. Just my thoughts, of course. |

Case back is flatter on the Exp II than a Sub and much flatter than the Dssd so it will sit flatter on the wrist. Wears slightly larger than than the 116610 IMO. Quite a bit larger than a Daytona.
I think the Exp II wears great at 42mm. My wrist is 7.3 inches if that helps.

For me the 42mm Exp II is right in the sweet spot between the Daytona and DSSD in terms of size. It has the comfort of the Daytona or GMT with the flatter caseback with a slightly bigger look than the other 40 mm Rolex watches. Have fun trying it on.

The smaller dial of the 43.5mm, shall we say, DSSD makes it wear smaller and similar to the Exp2, but the DSSD is ofc thicker.

Bro no, the DSSD, as you can see in the official Rolex website, is 44mm not 43. They don't have any 43s. They just have 40, 41, 42 and 44. Of course other than the smaller DJ models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Somewhere in my past I have read and/or heard the DSSD is 43, but I don't remember where. I will gladly concede the point. |

Having owned all three at one time, the Expii wears much, much larger than the Daytona. It pretty close the the DSSD with the exception of the weight. If you prefer larger watches, the Expii is a good choice.
But try one on first, your thoughts may change once it's on your wrist. I can't explain it, it just does.
