I had both for awhile and eventually moved the DSSD in favor of the Sub-C ND. Thought that the sub was more wearable for me and the money out of the flip helped me get another watch that I wanted.

For my budget they are too similar for me.

If I had unlimited funds, hell yeah i'd have both.

No, but that's because I've had a resistance to a black Sub Date ever since I started collecting.

Now, the SD and a Deep Sea? Yup, been there done that.

Absolutely, although I guess it would depend on how many watches were in the collection for me...as I like a little variety. But the diver bezel is one of the most useful functions on a sports watch, IMO.

Actually, I'm kind of contemplating adding a DSSD in with two subs even as we speak. Decisions, decisions...

There are way too many beautiful watches out there that I would like to own and spend my money on. I won't own two (or in some cases as pictured above three or more) very similar looking watches from the same brand.

But at the end of the day, owning a watch is a very personal thing, and if one enjoys the subtle differences (even if no one else in the world would see or appreciate those differences) then one should go for it.

If I could, I would own the entire line of Rolex watches...I'd throw in AP, PP, ALS, JLC and a few other lines while we're at it.

I have no problems with someone owning both. If you love Rolex Divers, why not? Given my limited budget and massive list of watches I want, owning 2 similar watches wouldn't be for me personally, but some people are loyal to one brand and/or one style and I understand that.

There's no reason not to have both because they're great, but if you're going to have only these two, I'd get the Sub LV instead, so you could add colour!

Cheers!

The DSSD is a totally different watch. Only on first glance from far away you might confuse them. Sure has it's place alongside a Sub imho

I have both a DSSD and a SubC and I alternate. Some days I like it light and some days I want to know what's on the wrist. I love them both. Now trying to decide between the Hulk and a TT.

Would you own both if you could?

Yep my only 2 watches from 2008-2013 I think when I got my AP. I wore my DSSD daily from 2008 until 2012 when I bought my sub c after that I'm where my DSSD 5 to 10 times a year but it is a sentimental piece that I got for graduation and I could never part with it. I loved the deep-sea but after starting to where the sub I realized it was just too thick and I have an 8" wrist.

If you really want both of those watches, then I say go for it. My Submariner 14060m is one of my favorite watches, but I still added an SD4K (for several reasons) and have been pretty dang happy with it.
