Actually, I think next year will be as bad if not worse.

We Boomers are of that age now.

RIP George Michael. Sad seeing these music legends go this year. In my opinion Wham! has one of the greatest somber Xmas songs of all time.

So sad, I was shocked when I heard the terrible news. He was a brilliant artist whose voice will be missed, but never forgotten. Last Christmas is and forever will be a get song this time of year. Let our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Christmas Eve, I was going thru some random website's slideshow of "then and now" pics of celebrities in their younger days compared to now. George Michael was eerily one of the celebrities depicted. He obvs didn't look like his self from his Wham days, but he didn't look like he had aged extraordinarily either. Then I wake up from a nap on Christmas Day, and discover that he had left this mortal coil. Was gobsmacked, to say the least.

My senior year of high school, I attended an outdoor concert at the Oakland Coliseum with Wham as the headliner. I was there with my gf, a buddy and his gf along with 6 other females who were friends of our girlfriends. Our group actually worsened the ratio, as there were probably 60K females there and maybe 5K guys. My buddies tried to tease me the Monday afterwards, and I asked them why they had issues with being surrounded by tens of thousands of young women on a Saturday night. All of them were like "huh, didn't think of it that way".......

RIP Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, aka George Michael. You left an indelible, iconic mark on the music scene of the 80s.
