I'd hate to see the scratches they would cause...

Years ago European tourists started to wear cheap(ish) bracelets acquired while vacationing abroad. This custom turned into a trend. Now it is overhyped.

Its not a fashion trend. Its just bracelet makers trying to sell bracelets using the popularity of wrist watches.

Much beloved of try-hard poseurs on social media, usually with their car steering-wheel in the background of the photo. Utterly ridiculous (and that's without even accounting for the heinous scratch potential).

Sorry don't care for it. Plus I think detracts from the watch and potential scratches. And as your pics show, many have simply gone over the top on this one.

No doubt a fashion fad that will soon be replaced by something equally revolting.

Tried it for 2 days. Scratched the crap out of my watches. Not really worth it unless you go simple with one bracelet that's wooden beads. In that case it would work

I can understand wearing it on the opposite wrist.

Your 100% right. They are piggybacking off high end couture to make it seem like they belong.

Watches and Beads

Not my thing. No offense to those who like this look. I have seen it "tastefully" done and looks OK on some but not something I would wear. Also seen it less tastefully where it looks like a neon sign wrapped around a watch.
I like to stare at my watches, don't want anything distracting me...lol

I think our watches look good enough by themselves.

I like simplicity. So, would not like beads on the wrist when wearing a Rolex. Not a fan.

Must say I'm guilty! but it was soft, and my daughter gave if to me as a gift, so obligated wasn't a bad look, just not everyday for sure.

Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one that didn't get it

I mean, to each their own, but it just looks like someone trying too hard to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
