Patek 5711 vs AP 15202
Hi guyz.
I'm planning to add one more sports watch to my collection; 1) pam 312 2) rorelx sub blue tt 3) rolex daytona C. The candidates are PP 5712 and AP 15202. Which one would you pick? Thanks! |

Very different watches. Both icons so you can't really go wrong.
You really need to have both on the wrist and determine which feels best. They wear very differently. |

Both
But if one, go with the original Genta ...AP (Royal Oak 1972, Nautilus 1976). |

I had a 5711 white dial and while great....I still want a 15202. I'm in the minority that doesn't love the 5711 blue.

You kind of need both. One won't scratch the itch sadly. I'd go PP first.

The fair comparison would be 5711 vs AP 15400 as they have alot more in common. The only logical comparison between the 5711 and 15202 is the price and perhaps scarcity.
15202 will always be the benchmark for luxury steel watches. The game changer. |

5711 for a few reasons, better WR, second hand, screw down crown and quick set date, for AP I chose and got the 15300 blue dial, sure the 15202 is better looking, but the lack of all the things I listed made it a no brainer for me, I also have a 5711 incoming in a few months, like that I have 2 watches very close to the original Genta designs, but which have IMO nice upgrades over the originals, but I already have a 5712... Of course if the things I listed aren't a necessity for you then you can go for looks alone, and that depends on your tastes...

Both are winners and for many it's just a question of "which one am I getting first?"
I've got the 5711 but still wanting to add a 15202 or if I can find a 15300. |

I had both and now I only have the 5711. I do miss the 15202 and I am considering getting another one. Like they say get both.

I still feel the 5711 is more at home next to a 15202 than a 15400 but I could see the argument. |

I actually like all aspects (blue color, dial, shape of case, bracelet) of the AP more but voted for the PP because i will not buy a watch without a seconds hand or at least a chrono- controlled seconds hand. However if lack of a seconds hand does not bother you.. i would say go for the AP.. again cannot go wrong with either

Love both, but to me 5711 (in either dial color) is the best option. I don't mind the lack of a seconds hand in the 15202, but I do mind the lack of a quick set date and the lack of a wind down crown. Based on some community posts out there, my impression is that the 15202 is a bit more prone to technical problems - but that is just a perception. These are master pieces. Happy for you whichever option you end up with.

My point is that comparing the 5711 to the 15202 is selling AP short as they have chosen to stay true to the original watch where Patek has no counter part anymore. IMO the implication to the "5711 vs 15202" comparison is that Patek is the superior brand and only AP's most expensive SS RO is worthy to compete even if they created the category luxury steel watch. Just my 2 cents. |

The 5711 is probably the best of the Nautilus in my opinion. Clean dial showing off the blue so we'll. The 15202 is great in photos but not that different to a 15300 in reality.
Out of those options I'd get a 5712 as it's the more complicated one. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

5711 I would say. You have to wear it and see the dial in numerous lighting conditions to truly appreciate its beauty. It's the most beautiful watch dial I've ever seen in person. The AP didn't have the same reaction in the light to me personally. Plus the resale value is much better if you ever sell it. Just my two cents.
