Toughest watch to photograph

In my opinion the Platinum YM is the toughest watch to photograph, however, somehow I managed to capture this rare "good" photo of it. Where you can see the sparkles in the dial, the red vivid second hands and how well it fits in my 6.5" wrist.

What has been the most challenging watch to photograph that you've ever encountered?

Agree with Mike on this. Almost seems like the Blue photograph's differently other than the many rich varying shades this reference has in real life.

Not a rolex - but the AP royal oak 15450 with silver dial. It's like one giant mirror in direct sun.

Blue YM isn't all that easy, can look like the Platty indoors.

The black 16570 can be tough to photograph. This is the only half-decent pic of mine that I have taken.

Yeah, I agree with the YM and smurf answers. So good looking in the flesh, but pics...man.

And unless you've got ideal lighting and the perfect angle, just about any starburst dial.

Hands down my NOMOS Metro Urban Gray. Beautiful watch, but it clearly was the love child of Bigfoot and the Lochness Monster.

Mother of Pearl dials tend to never look as good in pics as in person IMO.

Regardless of the watch, always rare that you get a near "perfect" shot...

Most of these shots look great; the jubilee dial with Arabic numbers gave me a fit.

Low contrast and lack of sharp features are a problem for auto focus.

Agreed. It's tough to deal with both the sapphire and bezel reflections.

Honestly, Rolex watches in general are harder to photograph, because most makers now use AR coatings.

X10 Impossible to shoot. Does help to reduce the brightness but then you lose the true Gray of the dial. Great strap combo you have there!

A light box or indirect filtered light is your friend with that watch. I don't have a gray any more but this is with an iPhone 6 on the white dial Metro. It is the double curve of their crystals that makes them impossible.
