FS: Vintage Rolex 1680 Submariner Date circa 1978

Vintage Rolex 1680 Submariner Date. Serial number 5.2 million is circa 1978. Original “Mk. 1” matte dial and hands are a perfect match. The bezel insert is believed to be a service replacement, but the pearl is tritium. While previously polished, the case is still very strong with thick lugs. Watch also has the original silver date wheel with open 6's & 9's.

Condition:
Condition is “excellent”. Approximately 88-89% per the TimeZone guidelines with many minor blemishes as are visible in photos. The dial has a tiny sliver of paint missing where it meets the rehaut at the 5 o’clock position. Bracelet is a 93150 with clasp code “X5” and 580 endlinks. I would describe the amount of stretch as “medium” and this bracelet does have all 12 links as original to fit a very large wrist. Watch is functioning well but runs a bit fast, like +9 seconds per 24 hours, with good amplitude. Service history is not known.

Accessories:
Watch only. The modern Rolex “wave” box that is visible in some photos is just a prop for photography and is not included.
