I just bought my 116600 last february and wear it to work since then everyday. My boss wears a fake Tag Heuer. Another colleague has a fake Daytona and was convinced my Sea Dweller was fake too. So I just told him he has great eye for spotting a fake Rolex. I work in a bank btw.

I also wear my Rolex, IWC and Omega to work but no one ever notices or says anything about it.

I wear my Sub-C every day, every where, no matter what.
I've never had anyone call me out for wearing a Rolex, except for once in the workplace many years ago when I had a Pepsi GMT Master. |

I wear my BLNR daily, my boss and his wife both wear Daytonas. They're both the Wall Street type who think the Daytona is the be-all-end-all Rolex.
The day I come in with a Daytona C or ANY Daytona for that matter is the day I get fired! |

Old thread but yeah I'm the only one at my work that wears anything more expensive than a citizen. I've been wearing my Omega's and now Rolex's daily for the past 2 years and have been asked about them maybe 2 times and neither was anything negative. I wear them because I like them.

Almost every day, except when I am working with a lot of bankers boxes and documents and then I wear my Orient Mako.

My boss wears the Bond blue Seamaster (which is a cool watch in its own right)
He doesn't appear to give a toss that I have a nicer watch than him. I think people sometimes overthink this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes most people don't even know, only people who know I am into watches grab my wrist to see what I am wearing.

I got my first Rolex 3 months ago, and I was hesitant about wearing it everyday. I slowly started wearing it more and more and now I can't leave the house without it on. Great everyday watch!

Don't get why you wouldn't. Maybe I'm naive but you earned it and paid for it, wear it.

Most assuredly it's my daily watch. Rolex GMT II 1996, and I enjoy it, don't care what people think.

My boss is anti-Rolex - has come right out and said this blasphemy - all good, wear mine 24/7/365. However, I will admit that when I was a new employee I was a bit skittish and laid low with a G-Shock for a while while I surveyed the territory...

I do not wear mine to work. A its not worth hearing about it being the bosses son from the employees, and B printing inks and solvents are not what I want anywhere near my higher valued watches. I've thrown away several beaters from ink being spilled on them.

Yes, people like us notice these things, but we are a tiny minority,(fortunately). Normal people don't care what watch we are wearing. They just are not interested. Mind you, my partner has got quite good at spotting various watches, and she wears watches to match her outfit. Good a reason as any.

Pretty funny to see some of these responses questioning why you would choose not to wear something like a Rolex at work.
To question that would mean you think it's not possible for coworkers or bosses to be petty, vindictive, and think it means more than it does to simply wear a certain watch. So maybe you are lucky and it truly doesn't ever matter, some of us are not in such a position. |
