Not keen on the size but I can understand it to some extent. Lots of people complained the the sd4000 should have gone up a size to fill the gap between the Sub and the dssd. The red is nice, too.

BUT A CYCLOPS?????!!!! SERIOUSLY? On a SEA Dweller?????

Why on earth have they put a cyclops on it??? The whole idea of the SD and DSSD not having cyclops was so that the watch could be used safely for saturation diving! The watches' intended purpose for crying out loud. That's why they have a helium escape valve!

I hate it, big time.

I think the thickness is the same as the "old" 116600.

Awesome!! They finally make a sport watch for those who appreciate a larger size, but without the terrible looking ring inside like the DSSD. The red font is killer as well.

Note: If Rolex did indeed discon 40mm, it's probably the shortest production modern Rolex in history. Market since Q3 2014 and ended Q1 2017, about 30 months. Even the Explorer 1 214270 "short hand" released in 2010 only updated in 2016, bearing same model number but with longer hands and lumed 3,6,9.

Speaking of predictions, I believe a member predicted the demise of the 116600 back in January. He also predicted many things in his OP. I wonder if he got them right.

Discontinued 116600 was $10,400, new model is $11,350.
It will be interesting to see where the comparative prices settle on these.
The 40mm 116600 was a very slow seller for the ADs I do business with.
I think the new 43mm 116600 will significantly cannibalize sales from the 116660 Deepsea.
If you actually dive with your Seadweller and the cyclops is an issue, it probably can be removed by your watchmaker.

Not sure why the crystal can't be flush. Domed crystal looks so good on the DSSD flush with the bezel.
Red font is like sticking an a badge on a car to make it look like a faster variant.

The cyclop is a must since the increase in the case size. Otherwise the date will out of place i.e. too close to the centre of the dial

people hate change! .... this is absolutely beautiful. owner of a DSSD and a sub (no date) i'm itching to add this

the SD4K had no appeal what-so ever for me! ..bland was an understatement' this is a winner

It it nice but would have been more desired at 42mm. I am also very curious of case thickness. That is just as important in my opinion. Omega 43mm PO 600, is a whopping 16.05mm thick. It looks like a hockey puck on a wrist.
