16750 Bezel Question

I am going to have my GMT serviced. I plan on keeping the original dial, hands, and bezel insert. I would like to replace the bezel and crystal as they are very worn. Will replacing these affect the value of the watch? Thanks in advance for the responses.

Crystal, not really; bezel, probably. Can you keep the original bezel in a drawer and have a new one installed?

It shouldn't affect the value. You are getting it done with Rolex, what better documentation...

Now, if you are having issues with the Bezel, they may also replace the retention ring, which again it would be fine and documented by Rolex.

Get it done right !

Thanks for the response. Maybe, I could take the bezel off completely before sending it to RSC. I also have a local vintage guy that has been recommended by the forum. He has a Rolex account and can get a new bezel-the caveat is he has to send in the bezel he wants the replacement for:(

This is accurate. My AD Rolex CW21 confirmed they require a trade in of the old bezel. It was something like $300ish plus old bezel.

I've heard of guys walking into an RSC with their watches sans bezel and getting a new bezel with I "geesh my bezel fell off someplace" story, but that behavior crosses the line for me. I ended up finding a NOS bezel on VRM.

The Dallas RSC charges you double their normal price for a bezel and insert if you do not have one on your watch.

Update-Spoke with RSC in Dallas have decided to go with a vintage rolex guy in the area. RSC seemed hesitant about being able to honor my request to keep the bezel insert.

Also, I currently have a jubilee bracelet on the watch with incorrect end links-came that way from the previous owner. RSC said they would only provide me the correct end links (550) if my watch, meaning my SN, came with a jubilee bracelet. My local AD is currently checking on the end links-fingers crossed.

Thanks for all the responses!
