Who would want a Milgauss-sized Explorer?
I think an Explorer in a Milgauss-sized case would make a great "rugged" Rolex and in a size that people would want. Brushed finish of course, but with newer bracelet/clasp. Only problem is what to call it - Explorer III?

They should make it really big, so it will be as timeless as: bell bottom pants, wide ties, skinny ties, zoot suits, and tramp stamps.

Why not this one, with dial and hands from the current 114270:
It is the new Oyster Perpetual 116000 with black dial only released in Japan. Isn't it a VERY good give away of a coming replacement of the current 114270, that is the last model available with the old style case now? And since the dials are interchangeable between old and new style models it would be NO problems for Rolex to immediately start to produce an upgraded Explorer model. Best, A |

40MM with polished centerlinks would be a great look to me.

Nope, I think it is perfect in size. But I do like skinny ties...

40mm in combination w/the new heavier, rounder case shape, I'd just have to see it first... Size aside, I like the shape of the old cases better.
