Wine Storage: EuroCave?

I know there are a lot of wine aficionados here, like me. I have a modest collection of approx 300 bottles of Oregon Pinot & California Cabs. I am looking to buy a Eurocave until I am able to build out my lower level to create a cellar.
Has anyone bought a Eurocave? I'd appreciate any feedback before pulling the trigger. FWIW, I am looking at the Revelation L model. Thanks.

Hi Lawman, do you get a lot of temperature variation throughout the year where you live?
I am probably 'preaching to the converted' here, so please excuse if you have already thought about all this, but do you really need a temp. control device?
I generally don't cellar Pinots for long as for me they drink best within a short time of vintage. Robert Parker suggests that the average American Pinot should be consumed within 5 - 7 years. I never keep Pinots for this length of time but that is just me.
The heavier Reds - Shiraz and Cab Sav. are different of course.
I guess it depends on temperature variation where you live and the quality/value of the wine. If it is expensive wine (>$100./bottle) then I can see that you would want to ensure they are protected.
Wine cabinets are expensive and you'd need a few to store 300+ bottles, and then you lose a lot of money selling them second-hand when you get your cellar sorted.

I have one and they are incredible. Unlike cheaper ones I have had in the past, the Eurocave's temperature never varies or fluctuates. It is incredible and I highly recommend!

Really give this some thought as repairs on EuroCave are expensive and can be a nightmare to schedule. Remember, this will be an emergency repair situation. If you are serious about storing wine, and that means going beyond CA wines to French and Italian wines, convert a closet or a small room. This is an inexpensive weekend project. A cooling unit for a small room will be approx. $800-$1000 and they can last over a decade. My last cooling unit ran perfectly for 17 years. An earlier post was very informative re drinking CA Pinot and Cab and I believe correct.

I've had one for years. Other than the temperature display blanking out it's done what it's supposed to.

Our current set up. Small unit for whites. Just moved up to a newer Eurocave for the reds as I like the new bottle system gives some increased flexibility as you can remove or reposition the bottle placement. It came with a nifty light.

I've had a Eurocave for about 25 years now, and it has always performed perfectly. I'm generally storing good French Pinot Noirs from Burgundy. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Just finished putting this in the garage for my reds. It sits at a constant 58 degrees. It holds 1200 bottles +. I have it about half full at the moment.

It was an old storage area behind the garage. The walls were already very insulated so we just built in the wall where the doors are.
I live in wine country and am in the industry so I am gifted wine all the time. I don't think I would ever buy that much

That is lovely, Matt. Everything I could ask for in a cellar.
Once you get above 1000 bottles you need to be either younger than me or drinking a bottle every night.
After a life of drinking wine I seem to have developed a 'wine allergy' so get into it while you can.

Yes, we ordered some extra shelves. Really gives you more space. I still have six extra shelves from my two previous units I need to get rid of...

I've got an N'Finity Pro (sold by wine enthusiast) that I got with AMEX points. Its a 300 bottle fridge, and has run like a top since day one.

I personally love the unit because i like my reds cellar temp, and this does the trick.

I recommend the partitioned sections so you can store white/sparkling at a lower temp. If you don't like white/sparkling, set it to the red temp. At least you have the option.

Very nice Eurocave Larry! Can I ask what model you purchased? That's about the size I'm looking to purchase.
