Only one team deserve to win this and its the USA.
Disappointed with Sergio's behaver KIM was 8 under for 14 holes a class act .The crowd were not as rowdy as they were in IRELAND. So the winner is Golf we have seen some amazing play and sportsmanship congrats to the winners.America should be proud. And when you come to WALES in 2 years , we gonna give you a good welsh whoop in! |

Classy post Paul. It seems only "Americans" behave badly at these events but we know there are morons all over the world. Glad the USA won because it was getting to the point where people were losing interest over here. Can't wait for Wales. My brother and I are thinking of coming over for it. He played rugby over there and made some great friends.

Thanks for the kind comments from across the pond It's about time we got the job done!
As far as the crowd goes, c'mon, our guys will be given just as much hell from the folks over there in a couple of years, and that's perfectly alright.

Haven't read the whole thread but must agree with the previous 2 posts.
The standard of golf was of the highest quality from both teams and the only difference was that the Americans began to read the greens earlier than the Europeans. Some of those putts were outstanding. Congratulations.

Big congratulation to the USA, hard fought battle but USA clear winners in the end, good sportsmanship between players. Boo Weekly and JB Holmes outstanding.

Old Misery guts, bitsy the troll ain't gonna be so gracious....
Borrowed from the Telegraph... US golf fans used dirty tricks in a bid to upset Europe's Ryder Cup players on the final day today, cup veteran Lee Westwood claimed. The Englishman said he received a phone call in his room just after midnight wishing him luck and that his mother and father who were with him in Kentucky were then called at 4:30 in the morning. "They got the wrong hotel and rang the wrong Westwood room," he said. "I found that quite amusing. It upset my dad's preparations for walking around the course today." Westwood, who lost his singles 2 and 1 to Ben Curtis, related a bizarre incident when a fan draped in a ghostly white sheet leapt out in front of him as he went from the fifth green to the sixth tee. "There was this ghost that jumped out at me between 5 and 6 and went, "Booooooo" right like that to my face and he was the one that got ejected, but he was the one that made me laugh," he said. "All of the abuse that I got was fairly nasty, and that was pretty shameful." Probably just sour grapes but not really the spirit of competition is it chaps? J |

Following on there are also accustations that the Americans changeD the flag positions on day 1 and 2 after the European players and caddies had measured the holes for yardage etc and even the tees possibly.
I AM NOT SAYING THIS HAPPENED-THE AMERICANS WERE THE BETTER TEAM BUT- THESE ARE REPORTS SURFACING IN CREDIBLE NEWSPAPERS. Quote:

What crap with these reports. Faldo would have had a major meltdown in front of the press if the pin positions had been changed after the fact. BTW, there are no credible newspapers. My daddy always said "don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see."

Hey I'm serious...I think that's not on....neither were the phone calls or allegations that US newspapers were paying rewards for hotel staff to divulge the Euro player's phone numbers!!!!!
You should be proud Josh, they've done your country proud! J EDIT: Obviously the officials found it either unsporting, disruptive or plain embarrassing....the guy was ejected remember! |

If you feel that a fan jumping out and saying, "Boo" to a Euro player is so unsporting then you hold your standards of fan conduct pretty dang high, in my opinion. Such an action wouldn't even register on most people's radar screens, let alone warrant being thrown out of an event. As for being proud, you're right - I am proud of how well the American team played and how well they carried themselves around the course. I was also proud of the American fan support and also impressed with the Euro fan support. I thought both teams were professional and handled the matches with the utmost class and integrity, but also let the spirit move them from time to time. |
